Hi, I’m Meggie—founder of Sprout Literacy and a mom who knows firsthand what it feels like to watch a child struggle to read. After years in the classroom and my own journey parenting a child with dyslexia, I sought out and trained in an approach that truly works.

Now, I provide 1:1, evidence-based literacy instruction to help children grow into confident, capable readers—quickly and joyfully. Whether your child has a diagnosis or is just feeling stuck, I’m here to help you find hope and real progress.

My son was struggling with reading, writing, and spelling. He began receiving extra support at school in 1st grade, but he still had difficulty with reading and was falling further behind. By 3rd grade, he was in tears because reading felt so challenging for him, and he didn't understand why. I did some research and was given Meggie's e-mail the summer before my son started 4th grade. After just two months of working with her, I noticed a significant improvement in my son's reading ability. My son has continued to make progress not only in reading but also in spelling, writing, and comprehension. I am happy to say my son now loves reading and it's all thanks to Meggie! I am incredibly grateful that we crossed paths with her!

When our daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia, we were overwhelmed and unsure how to best support her. We felt lost, scared, vulnerable, and extremely uneducated on how to navigate this diagnosis. By the time the diagnosis came, our daughter was already behind, and it was  hard not to feel like we had failed as parents. When we learned about and met Meggie - everything changed. She has been a true blessing to our family. Her patience, flexibility, and deep understanding of dyslexia have made a world of difference in our daughter’s growth and confidence. She has learned so much during her 1:1 sessions and genuinely looks forward to them, even early in the morning! For any parent walking through this same path, know that support like Meggie’s exists—and it can change everything. We are endlessly grateful to have her in our corner.

After a couple months working with Meggie, our son had his pre-kindergarten testing, and he passed with flying colors, especially letters! We really struggled with letter/sound recognition before we started lessons with Meggie and aside from flash cards, I was a little lost in how else I could help him! We’re so so grateful for her time and she’s AMAZING at what she does!

We started Meggie’s services to support our 5-year-old, a late summer birthday who was eager to start school and already showing interest in reading. It felt like the perfect way to build kindergarten readiness and start this important skill off right—before any bad habits formed. We expected growth, but we were truly blown away by the results week after week.

Our son connected with Meggie immediately and looked forward to each lesson. Even in the first few sessions, we saw huge progress—from letter recognition to blending sounds, improved handwriting, and increased motivation to practice at home.

What really set Sprout Literacy apart, though, was the parent support. Meggie gave us clear explanations of her methods, at-home resources, and weekly reports that outlined what was covered, where our child needed more help, and exactly how to support him.

The quick results were amazing, but the confidence we gained as parents was just as valuable. We can’t recommend Sprout Literacy enough!
